About

I'm Andy Williams

People aren’t broken. They’re stuck.

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

based in Fayetteville, GA.  Telehealth available in 10+ states.

I’ve been doing this work for a while now, and the thing I keep coming back to is this: people aren’t broken. They’re stuck. They’ve got patterns that made sense at some point but don’t anymore. They’ve got ways of protecting themselves that are now getting in the way.

My job is to help you see what’s actually happening.

Not to tell you what’s wrong with you. Not to give you a diagnosis and a reading list. Just to slow things down enough that you can notice what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and what you might do differently.

I work mostly with couples and with men. A lot of the men I see didn’t grow up talking about how they feel. They learned to handle things, push through, figure it out on their own. That works until it doesn’t. I help them find another way.

With couples, I’m usually helping two people who’ve stopped hearing each other. They’re having the same fight over and over, or they’ve stopped fighting and just gone quiet.

Either way, something got lost. We figure out what it is and how to get it back.

I also do financial therapy, which is really just couples therapy where money is the thing nobody knows how to talk about. It’s never actually about the money. It’s about fear, control, old patterns, and what you learned growing up. Once you see that, the money conversations get a lot easier.

How I Work

What it's like to work with me

I’m direct. I’ll tell you what I’m noticing. If something’s happening in the room, I’ll name it. Not to make you uncomfortable, but because that’s usually where the useful stuff is.

Therapy with me feels like a conversation, not an evaluation. We talk the way people would if they were trying to understand something together.

I ask real questions. You answer honestly. We respond to each other in real time.

I’m not neutral in the way some therapists are. I have reactions, and when it helps, I’ll share them. I won’t sit quietly with a blank face waiting for you to guess what I’m thinking. If something lands, I’ll tell you.

I don’t rely on therapy jargon. You won’t hear phrases like “hold space” or “sit with that.” We talk like people.

Sometimes that means serious moments. Sometimes it means relief. Sometimes there’s laughter when something finally clicks. That’s allowed here.

I give feedback. If I think you’re avoiding something, I’ll say so. If I think you’re being too hard on yourself, I’ll say that too. I’m honest, not harsh. There’s a difference.

Sessions are 50 minutes, over video. I’m based in Georgia and licensed in several states, so I work with people all over.

What I Believe

A few things I've learned

Curiosity works better than criticism. When you get curious about why someone does what they do, you stop fighting and start understanding.

Small shifts add up. You don’t need to overhaul your whole life. One conversation handled differently. One reaction you caught before it took over. That’s how things change.

Most conflict comes from something that didn’t get said. A need that came out sideways. A fear that looked like anger. Once you name it, the pressure drops.

You don’t need the perfect words. You just need to show up willing to look at what’s happening.
